Good productI've used this item for years now, and Costco branded and priced medications are reliable and a great value. For me, this worked great. I used to get bad heartburn from spicy food if I ate things like salsa or seasoned turkey stuffing on an empty stomach. BAD heartburn--for days! Then I discovered Pepcid AC, what a miracle worker! Of course, it doesn't work instantly, but if I was going out for Mexican food, I remembered to pop a Pepcid half hour before leaving and then maybe one after I got home. Then, I stopped having the problem so much, can eat Mexican all day long now without a problem. BUT, I got some Smokehouse Almonds a few weeks ago, man, love them, but they are like ground glass going thru my system, oh man, heartburn for days! Also had a broken ankle, so, was home bound, checked Amazon Prime out of desperation, and voila, ordered these, praying they would work as well as Pepcid--and they did--at a much cheaper price! Took them for about 2 days, no more heartburn, finished the can of Almonds, taking these pills again, and no problem! Not sure if I will be able to use up all the pills I got in this double bottle order, but, I am prepared now, bring on the Smokehouse Almonds! Not as good as their original stuff, but not badDuring times of Covid I wanna have a stock of this around. I mean if Trump got doses of it when he was in the hospital it has to work. I suffer from Gerd so instead of my usual heartburn mad I take this daily now as a preventative against Covid. It can’t hurt.I rarely write reviews, but thought it necessary on this product. Although it has Famotidine in it, it is not the same as Pepcid. The inactive ingredients in this product aren't even close to Pepcid, which for me makes a huge difference. Inactive ingredients in medication are important and can change the effectiveness of a product. I have used the name brand Pepcid for years and it it expensive, but now I know why - it works best!! I tried getting the generic prescription of Pepcid a while back and it didn't work like the real deal either. However, I am like everyone else and want to save money so I thought I would try this, it did not work for me. I actually take one Pepcid a day before I go to bed and it works like a charm. I took a Kirkland and it actually made my symptoms worse sorry to say. I briefly read the ingredients before taking but actually missed that it has lactose in it, my fault I realize, but if your lactose intolerant this is not the product for you. Also it has polyvinyl alcohol in it and polyethylene glycol which isn't exactly healthy stuff. I know it's tough to get away from this stuff in medicine, but there is no reason to add this - except to make the product cheaper. For comparison and those who want to know here are the inactive ingredients for both products:Pepcid: carnauba wax, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, talc, titanium dioxide.Kirkland: carnauba wax, colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, lactose(monohydrate), magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, talc and titanium dioxide. If if works for you great, but for those who are thinking about using this if they have been using name brand Pepcid, you might want to think twice before trying. Also food for thought - if you are taking two of these a day vs maybe having to take one a day of the Pepcid - because it is more effective - are you saving money in the long run?I've suffered from acid reflux for 3 decades. Generally I take tums. The worst time for me is at night. I take 2 of these and I'm home free. Don't know if they have any of that bad side effect I've heard about, but am grateful these work as well as they do.This is generic Pepcid. It's okay if you have a sour stomach or heartburn after eating something 'off,' but in general it only lasts for a little while and I've found this stuff is a bit habit forming, because I'll be popping them left and right throughout my day. It's a fairer price here than it is at any pharmacy or gas station and it's in a far more plentiful supply here, as they'll charge you three times as much for a tenth of what you're getting here at one of those places so that's nice. I use this stuff in the morning to get rid of that 'stick in the throat' feeling or if I have a bad stomach ache this and some generic Gas-X or generic Prilosec can help soothe it. But you're better off buying the generic stuff here than at a pharmacy. Definitely get this though if you get a lot of heartburn!
