Dixell XR06CX Programmable Temperature Controller 120V for Commercial Freezers - Digital Thermostat for Walk-In Freezers, Display Cases & Refrigeration Units

Not sure why the ad says for freezer only. My Dixell XR20C died (wouldn't shut off) and I needed a replacement in a hurry. This unit was available at a good price and available next day. Based on the specs it should be able to do refrigeration, so I took my chances. Although it says "FREEZER" on the front of the controller, it absolutely works great for controlling the refrigerator. The only thing I needed to do was to change the Lower and Upper Setting limits (LS and US) away from their defaults. Simple to do in the settings menu. It come with a default US setting of 10F. I just bumped that up to 50F and changed the LS to 20F and it's working great regulating my commercial fridge at 36F. My original controller (XR20C) only has one contact closure (for just the compressor). So I left the fan and defrost relays unused on this new controller. Switching it over took me about 45 minutes - simple process. I did first write down all the settings of my original controller (including the hidden menu) and then changed a few of the settings on the new controller to better match my original settings. Getting it next day meant I was only down for a day. Much better than waiting for a replacement to come in from China! Highly recommend.
