SMART OR STANDALONE, you decide use device-to-device pairing to control your valve with a fob and/or when a leak is detected (YoLink leak sensors required), but for full functionality, including for app control, Alexa and IFTTT, a YoLink Hub or SpeakerHub, with an internet connection, is required.
