Dell PERC H800 512MB SAS RAID Controller Card - High Performance Storage Solution for Servers & Workstations - Ideal for Data Centers, Enterprise Storage & Server Upgrades

This was purchased from a seller who claimed it was a new H800. Since this card is rather old, I was excited to find a new card and was willing to pay a premium (most of these, used, sell for less than what I paid). When I got the card and installed it, I was disappointed to discover that the BBU was showing 41 cycles (about 10 years of power-on usage). The seller worked with me to provide a partial refund to make the price competetive with the other used cards listed on amazon - but buyer beware - if the listing says it's new, check the BBU when you get it to ensure you got what you paid for. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase, but only after coordinating and working with the seller.I have a Win 10 Pro setup. Connected to Sans Digital TR8X-B (8 x 2TB) as RAID 0.I dropped this card in, updated with the latest Firmware and installed latest WIN64 drivers from Dell.The board did not recognize my previous Raid 0 setup, but no biggee, I had backups.Tested with HD Tune Pro, ~700MB R & W. Perfect setup for video editing.My only issue is it added about 2+ min. to the POST. Haven't yet researched if I can speed this up.Other than that, great price for an SAS onboard RAID controller with the Battery BU!As always, Amazon's delivery was perfectly handled.Purchased in 2019. It has taken me some time to learn the ins and outs of this card, however, now that I have I can say this card is NOT NEW. Not only is it not new but the battery backup on the card has been non-functional the entire time. I am not the only one who purchased this and found it not to be new as advertised. The reviews will reveal several others. I would have given more stars had it not been for this as well as the BBU being non-functional. Definitely not worth the advertised price.Okay, its nice soft but already started to pile. Up.Work like a dream. Plugged into board and connected storage fault without any issue.Must use Dell software to admin, on board battery was DOA causing constant errors, does not work with SAS to E-Sata cables or most port multipliers.
