*update*: been playing with this for a few weeks, exclusively on this controller on switch, and I don't miss the official controller. they are interchangeable to me at this point.I didn't know what to expect from this controller, but I have to say, I'm SHOCKED by the attention to detail here and the quality. In side by side comparisons with my official Nintendo Pro controller, the makers of this one seem to have completely copied and recreated every last detail, besides the Nintendo branding. This really looks like an official Nintendo Controller. All the button placements, etc. are spot on identical to the official one. The controller feels ever so slightly different than the official one, particularly the "+" "-" "home" and capture buttons, but not very. I've had my official pro controller for about 7 years, so that might be a factor. But everything feels good. This controller doesn't have that cheap plastic-ey feel that some 3rd party controllers tend to have. It also has just the right heft to it. It feels just the right amount of heavy in the hands as the official controller. Honestly, if you don't have an official controller right next to it to compare, I don't think many would question this just being a Nintendo controller. The length they went to to recreate this controller extends to the packaging, which looks like an officially licensed box, and has some nice VERY poorly translated info on the back. As well as a very welcome USB cord, which feels every bit as sturdy and quality as the official Nintendo one. It even has the Nintendo Oval on the cord, minus the actual word "Nintendo", definitely not a detail that was necessary, and I'm shocked they went to that length. Most importantly, the way the controller plays: I have no complaints about actually using this controller. It's perfectly responsive in every way, simple to sync to a switch, just like any pro controller (even shows the black and white handles on the switch screen, which is a nice touch) and works just as well as an official Pro Controller when connecting on PC for steam and various other apps. The controller does not support NFC, as the posting says, and that's just not a function I care that much about personally. Unless you're a heavy Amiibo user (and who is these days?) it's not functionality that will be missed.I put this through its paces on my favorite most played, input intensive games, and it just worked and felt right. I tested it on Hades and got absorbed in the game and had a long play session, totally forgetting that I was trying to compare this to the Official pro controller. I Played Celeste to test the Directional Pad. The D-Pad on the official Pro controller is notoriously unreliable with input intensive games. I found the D-Pad on this controller to be pretty much exactly on par with the official one. Not perfect for Celeste, but for most uses, comfy and responsive. The only thing that is tricky to test fully is the battery life. I haven't monitored a bunch of cycles of fully charging and depleting the battery. But already, it lasts far longer than a PS4 or PS5 controller wirelessly, and that's really about as much as I hope for.Overall, the highest praise I can give this controller is, when I'm sitting down to play a game on switch or PC, I won't care if I happen to grab my official pro controller, or this one. And that's more than I can say for most unofficial controllers I've tried. If you need a pro controller, or an extra, especially on a budget, I don't think you can do any better than this one.
